Shambala
Synopsis
52 year old artist and photographer Christine du Fresne back packs solo around central Asia for five months, searching for 'Shambhala', the place where heaven and earth are said to meet. Starting in north-west China, she travels to Mongolia, Siberia, Kazakstan, Uzbekistan, Kygystan, Northern Pakistan, ending her journey 5 months later in India.
Shambhala is a glimpse into the lives, culture, arts and environs of the people who live in these places, whose lives are as yet largely untouched by tourism but whose warm, open and welcoming nature enabled Christine to make such a journey.
