Skye and Lachlan are in love and they're getting married.
Their parents belong to the generation who married, divorced and married again, or who, in the case of Skye's father, married, divorced, married, divorced and married again. But Skye and Lachlan know they're not like that. They're older than their parents were when they first got married. They're in control of their lives. In fact, they're so right for each other, they both decided simultaneously to propose to each other. And they both agree that the way to demonstrate their absolute confidence in each other and in their future together is to make the wedding a big one. Not that a big wedding needs to be extravagantly expensive. Skye can use her contacts in the food and hospitality business - she's the personal assistant to a celebrity chef and so she can get the food, the drinks, even the very big boat to take the wedding party around the harbour, all for almost next to nothing.
What could go wrong?
Stepfather of the Bride is a comedy about a modern wedding. It's a lighthearted look at three generations of love and marriage.
